Guide · Heart Check
A smartwatch EKG is a single-lead rhythm recording. It can flag rhythm irregularities — the reason most people get an alert — but it cannot rule out or diagnose a heart attack, and a clean strip doesn't guarantee a healthy heart. The right response to an alert is clinician review, not panic or dismissal.
A clinical EKG uses 12 leads looking at the heart from many angles; your watch uses one. One lead is genuinely useful for rhythm — rate, regularity, patterns consistent with atrial fibrillation — and genuinely blind to most structural and blood-flow problems.
An irregular-rhythm alert is a prompt for a conversation, not a diagnosis. Context decides everything: symptoms, history, medications, and how often it happens. That's clinician work — GetSeenMD's Heart Check lets you send up to six strips per visit to a clinician with a decade of cardiac-care experience.
Chest pain or pressure, fainting, severe shortness of breath, stroke signs — call 911. No watch, and no telehealth visit, is the right tool for an emergency.
